ifm SA Flow Monitors
In almost all fields of process and plant engineering liquids or gases are used, e.g. for coolant and lubricant supply of plants and power units or ventilation of installations and buildings.
Electronic flow sensors are used to prevent damage or downtime caused by flow interruptions.
ifm’s product range comprises flow sensors with different measuring principles for monitoring the most varied types of media, including water, oils, coolants but also air – compressed air or aggressive media.
Their application areas range from simple monitoring tasks to precise flow rate measurements.
The new benchmark in thermal flow measurement is the SA range. ifms SA Flow Monitors volumetric flow sensor operates using the calorimetric measuring principle. Two measuring elements as well as a heat source are located on the measuring tip.
The physical effect that a flowing medium absorbs heat energy and conducts it away is used. The resulting temperature change is an indication of flow.
The new SA-type sensor has been designed to detect and measure flow and temperature even in large internal pipe diameters up to 400mm.
The innovative 2-in-1 technology measures flow and temperature at the same time, and has a 345° rotating head. It is optimised for water, oils and air and has a red/green display for clear identification of the acceptable range.
Because there are no moving parts to jam or break, maintenance headaches can be avoided, and the simple push button menu allows the sensor to be customised to fit your application’s set points.
The process connection can be rotated for optimum alignment. Switching outputs, analogue signals and IO-Link provide various options to further process the signals.
The stainless steel construction will withstand harsh environments, and it is available in various probe lengths and process connections to fit most mounting requirements.
