Warehouse safety and efficiency go hand-in-hand, and choosing the right lighting system is an excellent way of making impactful, immediate improvements.
Warehousing costs are a big part of overall logistics expenses, which makes efficiencies vital for helping customers improve their margins, and providing a competitive service. Lighting can account for 80% of a warehouse’s total energy bill.
One of our clients Venalink – one of the most popular monitored dosage systems throughout Europe – asked us to enhance the lighting within their warehouse in Deeside.
The process began by DBI Control providing Venalink with a quote after one of our technicians conducted a site visit.
The total prices included what DBI Control would need for materials and labour, and we were also able to calculate how much Venalink could reduce their annual costs.
DBI Control supplied, installed and repaired already existing lighting systems and we also hired the scissor lift as part of the package.
Venalink knew that upgrading their lighting would ensure health and safety benefits and increase productivity, as their employees will find it easier to identify products, packages and also it will prevent on-the-job accidents.
It’s clear to see on the picture the drastic improvements the lighting has made. It brightens up the spacious room, and as well as being sufficiently illuminated; it has also saved Venalink over £100 a month on electrical costs, thanks to advancing to LED lighting.
Upgrading to energy efficient LED lighting can ensure warehouses get better value for money, including more efficient lighting and longer bulb lifetimes.
The benefits do not stop there, however, because the quality of LED lighting is also a key part of ensuring safer working practices and improving productivity.
The change between these two pictures is clear. On the top image – a dismal, dimly lit and potentially hazardous work place.
On the bottom image – a safe area, guaranteeing energy savings and requiring minimal maintenance over the years.
Please get in touch with DBI Control on 01244 288138 or email [email protected] if you think we could help improve the lighting in your warehouse.
