Safety light curtains are photoelectric presence sensors specifically designed to protect personnel from injuries related to hazardous machine motion.

Light curtains offer optimal safety, yet they allow for greater productivity and are the more ergonomically sound solution when compared to mechanical guards.

Allen Bradleys GuardShield safety light curtains include Point of Operation Control (POC) models for finger and hand protection and Perimeter Access Control (PAC) products for whole body protection.

Point of Operation Control safety light curtains are designed for finger, hand and arm detection. These light curtains are placed close to the hazard, at the point of operation where personnel may frequently interact with the machine.

445L GuardShield POC Type 4 Micro 400 – Economical three-box safety light curtains in a small housing, designed for use in benign industrial environments (IP54).

445L GuardShield POC Type 4 Safe 4 – Economical two-box safety light curtains with ON/OFF functionality, visible laser beams are activated by touching the laser at the finger symbol on the front face of the light curtains.

440L and 445L GuardShield POC Type 2 Low Risk – Applied in applications where a formal risk assessment has determined that the hazard poses a low risk of operator injury.

Perimeter Access Control (PAC) and Area Access Control (AAC) safety light curtains provide full-body access detection.
