ENC12A Connecting cable with socket
ifm’s ecolink series comprises sockets, cable plugs, jumper cables and splitter boxes in M8 and M12 designs. The range is complemented by adaptor sockets, adaptor plugs, valve plugs and wire-able sockets and plugs.
The product range is structured according to application areas. Connection technology is available for general industrial applications, for use in hygienic and wet areas in the food and beverage industry, for machine tool and metal working applications and for use in welding systems, mobile machines or hazardous areas.
To avoid the risk of explosion, products used in hazardous areas are subject to strict requirements. The connectors of the EVC series have been tested with an impact energy of 4 joules. To comply with the requirements, the nut of the connector has to be firmly attached to the sensor so that it is no longer possible to open it manually.
Sockets are generally used in automation technology to connect sensors and actuators with connectors to splitter boxes. Even when fastened by hand, a perfect lasting seal of sensor and actuator connections is guaranteed.
The integrated end stop protects the O-ring against destruction caused by over-tightening the nut. Even in harsh industrial environments, the connectors are protected against unintended loosening by a special vibration protection.
Recently DBI Control have used the ENC12A Connecting cable with socket in a job for a client’s Petro-chemical plant in Northwich, as it is appropriate for hazardous areas and harsh industrial environments due to its vibration and shock resistance and high protection rating.
