ifm’s LDL200 Conductivity sensor
An electrical conductivity meter (EC meter) measures the electrical conductivity in a solution.
It has multiple applications in research and engineering, with common usage in hydroponics, aquaculture, aquaponics, and freshwater systems to monitor the amount of nutrients, salts or impurities in the water.
Conductivity measurement is a versatile tool in process control. The measurement is simple and fast, and most advanced sensors require only a little maintenance.
The measured conductivity reading can be used to make various assumptions on what is happening in the process. In some cases, it is possible to develop a model to calculate the concentration of the liquid.
ifm have a range of Conductivity sensors available, and it’s not only breweries that appreciate the new LDL200. Dairies and other food manufacturers wanting to improve the efficiency of their CIP process can count on it.
The sensor is extremely compact, and just one M12-connector is enough to provide loss-free data transfer of the conductivity and medium temperature values by IO-Link.
The sensors are used in cleaning processes (CIP) in the food industry. They detect the concentration of cleaning agents, check the rinsing water for residues and for product validation.
Thanks to its high measurement dynamics the LDL200 accurately monitors if wash fluid is still in the pipe or if clean water is present.
And because this is done so quickly you save on resources. In other words: The cleaning process is shortened, and machine availability is increased.
They reduce inaccuracies associated with a time-based cleaning process, while also improving process performance with flexible measurement points.
They have a compact, high-quality sensor design which prevents failures and unplanned downtime.
They also simplify your installation and commissioning processes due to their loss-free signal transmission of measurement values
Precise, fast and reliable measurements during the process help to improve plant availability and optimize cleaning cycles.
Reduced amount of cleaning agents, lower energy consumption during rinsing and lower water consumption result in considerable cost savings are also benefits to your company.
Benefits when using ifm are simple order process, extremely short delivery times, and user-friendly integration into the application.
Advantages of the LDL200 Conductivity sensor include …
- Much shorter commissioning times
- No need for additional evaluation electronics
- Simple wiring using M12
- Robust and compact design
- The fully welded stainless steel housing prevents water ingress
- High availability and fast delivery times
- Reduces amount of water and chemicals required: Cleaning and rinsing on demand
- Quality of the cleaning process is reproducible
- Flexible adapter concept reduces / simplifies warehousing
