Nivotester FTL325N
Endress+Hauser are a leading supplier of products and services for industrial process measurement and automation; offering comprehensive process solutions for flow, level, pressure, plus much more across a wide range of industries.
The Nivotester FTL325N is a 1-channel or 3-channel switching unit for point level limit detection in liquid tanks, also in hazardous explosion areas. They are also suitable for overfill prevention in tanks with combustible or non-combustible liquids harmful to water.
We used the Nivotester FTL325N for a recent project where we were asked to create a control system for a multinational manufacturer and distributor of biocides, flame retardants, personal care ingredients and other speciality chemicals based in Northwich.
The Nivotester measures and evaluates the control current which is transferred along the supply line of the sensors. The level alarm relay signals if the measuring sensor is covered or free and an LED on the front panel of the Nivotester displays the switching status of the relay. Faults such as line interruption or short circuit are also displayed.
The benefits of the Nivotester FTL325N are …
- Nivotester FTL325N for connecting one, two or three measuring cells (1-, 2- or 3-channel devices)
- Intrinsically safe signal circuits Ex ia for use of measuring sensor in explosion hazardous areas
- Functional safety up to SIL2 through line monitoring
- DIN Rail housing for simple series installation on standard rails in switch cabinet
- Simple wiring using pluggable terminal blocks
- NAMUR interface to EN 50227 (DIN 19234; NAMUR) or IEC 60947-5-6 to connect NAMUR sensors or electronic inserts
The Nivotester detects liquid in pipes for dry running protection for pumps, and can be wired simply using pluggable terminal blocks. The compact housing makes it easy to install on standard rails in a switch cabinet, and the control current ranges from < 1.2mA to > 2.1 mA depending on the switching status.
If you think that the Nivotester FTL325N would be a useful application to have in your workplace to improve safety levels in your liquid tanks or many other applications, please get in touch today on 01244 288138 or info@dbicontrol.co.uk.
